Seniors

Congratulations on making it to the last year of your high school career! This year will be full of deadlines! Make sure to stay on top of them so that they don't creep up on you. Continue to utilize the College/Career Center. Use your time at school to ask questions about college applications, scholarship searches and anything else you might have a question about when it comes to applying to college.

Have you been accepted to college or received a scholarship?

If you have been accepted to a college or have received a scholarship, make sure to turn in a copy of your acceptance letter to Mrs. Clack in the Career Center (F102).

Helpful Resources

College is right around the corner. Here are scholarships open to high school seniors who are off to college next fall.

You will need teachers or counselors to complete a reference or letter of recommendation for your college and scholarship applications. Providing a resume with your academic achievements and community involvement will assist them in making you sound like the outstanding individual you are.

Go to APPLYTEXAS.ORG or COMMONAPP.ORG and see what essays are required for the university or colege you are interested in applying to.

Transcripts are one of the required documents for college admissions and some scholarships.  You can request your transcripts online at: nisdtx.scriborder.com/applicationCurrent. Your first one is free, each additional transcript is $2.

SAT/ACT

If you haven't already done so, take the SAT/ACT. Colleges will be needing those scores to make their decision on your acceptance to their university. If you attended a Northside school as a junior, then you took the SAT during April of your junior year. You may take BOTH the SAT and the ACT as colleges and universities accept both tests. In addition, you may also retake the exams to try and improve your scores. Some students are eligible for SAT/ACT Fee Waivers. Stop by the College/Career Center to see if you are one of those students.

You can submit your FAFSA as early as October 1 of your senior year. Each college/ university has its own priority deadline.

It's not too late to start volunteering your time in the community. Click the button to check out the opportunites in or around San Antonio.

By submitting your application to one Alamo College, you are submitting your application to ALL 5 Alamo Colleges. If you later decide to change campuses, you must fill out a form in person requesting the change. To apply, go to APPLYTEXAS.ORG. Make sure you complete the steps required for first time Alamo College students.
